B.C. Greens celebrate Kunming-Montreal Agreement and Call for Swift Action to Protect Biodiversity

The B.C. Green Caucus is celebrating the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal global biodiversity framework by the 15th Conference of the Parties at the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) meeting in Montreal. This agreement once again highlights the need to take urgent action to prevent further biodiversity loss and put nature on a path to recovery.

BC Greens have been working on that answer for several years now. There are no easy fixes, but given the right leadership and resources, we can shift the trajectory of public healthcare in BC.

Sonia Furstenau responds to inquiry into death of Traevon Desjarlais

“The suicide of Traveon Desjarlais is a profound tragedy, and the factors surrounding his death lay directly in the hands of this BC NDP government.

BC Greens call for government to reduce pressure on children’s hospitals

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Sonia Furstenau, Leader of the B.C. Greens and MLA for Cowichan Valley, is calling on the BC NDP government to improve the public health response to the current situation in BC’s pediatric wards.

“It is not clear what this government’s goals are when it comes to addressing the situation in children’s hospitals right now. In the past, ensuring hospitals were not overwhelmed was a clearly stated objective, but currently there is no direction about what we are trying to achieve.
