Statement on Human Rights Day

December 10 marks the 63rd Human Rights Day, created in honour of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human of Rights. Signed in 1948, this declaration became the first globally recognized statement of rights, biased neither by race, nor gender, nor cultural background. Instead, it sought to bring a standard of equality for citizens across the world.

Statement on the passing of Nelson Mandela

We mourn the passing of Nelson Mandela. Our thoughts are with his family, South Africans and all of humanity.

International Volunteer Day

Friend,

Today is International Volunteer Day and we want to take this opportunity to let you know how important you are!

Volunteering matters. Your contributions to the BC Greens are helping us grow so that we can tackle the big issues in British Columbia, get more MLAs elected and build better communities, towns, cities, province and beyond.

Go LOCO

In the midst of a shopping frenzy, imported from across the border, known as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the BC Greens support Buy Local Week (December 2-8, 2013).

The initiative was started by Vancouver based, LOCO BC. The organization “is working to create a diverse, vibrant local economy by strengthening small andmid-sized businesses. We do this by promoting buy local, by fostering business networking, and by ensuring businesses are on the path to sustainability.”
