Furstenau: All-party committee on toxic drug supply to be given terms of reference

VICTORIA, B.C. – Sonia Furstenau, leader of the B.C. Greens and MLA for Cowichan Valley, has issued the following statement:  

“After nearly a year of advocacy by myself and MLA Shirley Bond, I am relieved to see the Premier put it on record that he will activate the Select Standing Committee on Health and put in place terms of reference. The B.C. Green Caucus first wrote to the Premier to request this committee in May of 2021. Tragically, the number of deaths from the illicit drug supply has continued to break records.

BC Green leader calls on government to immediately divest in Russian state owned industry, oil and gas development

VICTORIA, B.C. – Sonia Furstenau, leader of the B.C. Greens and MLA for Cowichan Valley is calling on the B.C. Minister of Finance and the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation to immediately divest public pension plans from all Russian-backed industries, with a plan for divestment from all oil and gas development by the end of 2022.
