VICTORIA, BC - In the first 15 days of October, the B.C. Greens have already set the record for the best fundraising month in the party’s history.
Between October 1st and October 15th, the B.C. Greens raised $441,321.07. This total beats the previous record set during the 2017 election when the B.C. Greens raised $339,332.95 in April of that year.
“I am so grateful to all of the supporters - both returning and new - who are rallying around us,” said Sonia Furstenau, Leader of the B.C. Greens. “I can promise that no matter the shape of the next government, I will continue to stand up for the issues that matter most to British Columbians. The B.C. Greens will work tirelessly to deliver the support people need to make it through the rest of the pandemic, and to build a stronger, more sustainable province in the long-term.”
The record breaking month isn’t the only new record the party set in the last few weeks.
B.C. Green donors have already contributed more in this election than the party received during the entire 2017 writ period.
Furthermore, the B.C. Greens received more than $100,000 in donations since Tuesday, when Sonia Furstenau took part in the leaders debate. This amount included a two-day record on Tuesday and Wednesday, when donors contributed $70,548.88, beating any previous 48 hour period of the campaign.
The B.C. Greens are also welcoming a wave of new supporters. More than 43% of donors since Sonia Furstenau became leader are new donors to the B.C. Greens.
