January 04, 2017

PORT ALBERNI B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Mid Island-Pacific Rim, Alicia La Rue. La Rue is a business owner, artist, a former director for the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce and former competitive freestyle skier.

“I am running for the position of MLA because I believe that we deserve better,” La Rue said. “The B.C. Green Party is a party of sustainability, respect and forward-thinking. This is where we need to and have to go for a future that is not one of destruction but of innovation.”

“I am very excited to welcome Alicia to our team of B.C. Green Party candidates for the 2017 election,” added Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party. “Alicia is an extraordinary member of her community, contributing in myriad ways to its social, environmental and economic well-being. British Columbians need MLAs who can model this type of leadership in the 21st century and I believe the constituents of Mid Island-Pacific Rim will be very lucky to call Alicia their MLA.”
