First off, I would like to extend my deep gratitude to our Nanaimo by-election candidate Michele Ney.
As I’m sure you’ve heard, the NDP’s Sheila Malcolmson was elected last Wednesday night as Nanaimo’s new MLA.
While the results were disappointing for our own party, they were not unexpected given the conversations I’ve had with Green voters over the past few weeks.
Many said they will continue to support the party, but felt the need to vote for the NDP in this by-election so that the government and our agreement with them can continue.
Despite the results, we will continue to build on the momentum Michele Ney generated throughout her campaign. She was an exceptional candidate.
MIchele’s team worked incredibly hard on the ground, which will pay off the next time BC heads to the polls.
In the meantime, we will be putting our ears to the ground to listen to what British Columbians need and want from our caucus.
To do that, we need your help. The party will be sending out a survey in the coming weeks for your feedback on our priorities. Please make sure to provide your input when you receive the email.
Thank you for your continued support.
