VANCOUVER B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Vancouver-Fairview, Louise Boutin. Boutin is a realtor in Vancouver and the Vice President and Chair of the Childcare Committee for the Kensington Community Centre Association.
“My values align closely with the B.C. Green Party,” said Boutin. “First of all, we are not getting funding from big business and labour as the other parties are. Both the Liberals and the NDP have had a chance to make a difference for B.C. but have failed to do so. Child poverty is abysmal in B.C. There seems to be a confrontational way of governing and I want to see that change. I believe we can make a difference and I want to be a part of that change.”
Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party, welcomed Boutin’s nomination.
“I am thrilled to welcome Louise to our growing slate of B.C. Greens candidates,” said Weaver. “Louise brings a lifetime of hard work and determination to our campaign. She has been an unwavering champion of the environment and for children and seniors. And she understands that we must work together to ensure a sustainable future for this province. She would be an excellent representative for the people of Vancouver-Fairview in the B.C. legislature.”
