Wild sockeye salmon is the most financially lucrative renewable marine resource on the West Coast. Thanks in large part to sockeye trade, generations of coastal peoples have built strong economies and vibrant cultures.

These traditions continue today, but BC Liberals and Harper Conservatives seem determined to gut our west coast fishery just like we gutted the east coast cod fishery. Our provincial and federal governments keep putting fossil fuels ahead of better economic opportunities and more sustainable practices.

Bill 20 Could Weaponize Voter Data in B.C.

Privacy matters to me and it probably matters to you. As my friends and family know, I don't answer my phone. It's not that I'm anti-social: I just prefer to let the calls go straight to voicemail, which lets me weed out the more obvious spam. 

It's a practice that has served me well, particularly around election time when my phone -- like those of many other Canadians -- rings steadily. 

B.C. Green Party calls for immediate action on Vancouver housing crisis

Victoria, B.C. – Pete Fry, the B.C. Green Party candidate in the forthcoming provincial by-election in Vancouver–Mount Pleasant, and Andrew Weaver, MLA for Oak Bay–Gordon Head and Deputy Leader of the B.C. Green Party are calling for immediate action from the provincial government to address the housing crisis affecting Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

B.C. Green Party to hold leadership convention within approximately 1 year

Victoria, B.C. – Members of the B.C. Green Party approved a motion on Saturday at the party’s 2015 Conference and AGM to hold a leadership convention before the conclusion of the party’s next AGM. The party is required to hold an AGM within 15 months of its last AGM. Interim Leader Adam Olsen put forward the motion, which was unanimously accepted by members present.

Thank you to everyone who attended our 2015 Conference and AGM in Nanaimo this past weekend! The sense of how far we have come in the past couple of years and how much we have going for us was palpable throughout the workshops, AGM, rally and other events from Thursday through Sunday.
