Devyani Singh

Vancouver-Point Grey

Having grown up in the Indian Himalayas, Devyani saw the impacts of climate change on ecosystems firsthand - receding glaciers, burning forests, and the near extinction of species. After moving to the US to complete her MBA and then working for Fortune 200 companies, she witnessed corporations finding loopholes to exploit the environment. This led her to pursue an education at UBC and career in environmental science, and ultimately, to politics.

Devyani has spent years working on global climate policy issues - clean water access in India, sustainable forestry initiatives in the Great Bear Rainforest, oil and gas emissions in Canada, and so much more.

As a proud resident of Vancouver-Point Grey, Devyani understands the problems in the riding – a climate resilient future, the need for affordable and accessible childcare and healthcare, post-secondary education, and social and racial justice.

As a BC Greens MLA, she is committed to finding implementable solutions through community consultation and scientific research. Politicians have repeatedly ignored scientists, so she is determined to bring science to them in the legislature.
