February 15, 2017

VANCOUVER B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Vancouver-Point Grey, Amanda Konkin. Amanda works in the entertainment industry and was one of the producers of the world’s first transgender sitcom, The Switch, that aired on OUTtv in 2016.

“This election I am looking forward to bringing the conversation in this riding back to a grassroots level; actively engaging with and fighting for the people of Vancouver- Point Grey,” said Konkin. “Now more than ever our political climate mandates that we work with like-minded voices in government to unite rather than divide through partisan politics. I believe that the B.C. Green Party is leading a movement towards positive, sustainable change and I am proud to be be their voice in this riding.”

“Amanda is a fabulous advocate for social change,” added Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party. “She brings experience and creativity to the campaign for Vancouver-Point Grey and will be a powerful voice for the B.C. Greens in May’s election.”
