As the NDP betrays young people by scrapping what little climate policy it had, we're reactivating the Young BC Greens - and you're invited!
In the lead-up to the election on October 19th, we're organizing young BC Green Party members (aged 14-29) across the province to empower youth to get their voices heard and help elect Green MLAs.
If you want a role on an active MLA campaign, a crack at managing official BC Green Party social media, to help design a youth empowerment strategy, to meet like-minded youth from across the province, to build career skills and credentials, or just to elect more Green MLAs, *this is your chance.*
But that's not all - after the October 19th election, we'll formally establish the new Young BC Greens. Young Party members will enjoy:
- The right to vote and run for Young BC Greens Council seats!
- Young BC Greens social media accounts run by young Party members!
- Active support for campus clubs!
- A social gathering space just for youth!
- Placement in shadowing roles to learn campaign skills!
- Logistical support from Party staff!
- An elected representative on Provincial Council (the Party's governing board)!
- And much more! Check out this (work-in-progress) governing document for more details about the new Young BC Greens: docs.google.com/document/d/1iqUqq8IPFMHVjo3VyRZ9Dopuo-WZwikq2JTxMQSnUgM/edit?usp=sharing
And if you're interested in a seat on the Young BC Greens Council post-election, then these Zoom meetups are the best place to show what you've got. We'll appoint the first batch of Councillors - possibly including you! - just to get the Council off the ground, but after that, every seat will be elected by young Greens.
We encourage you to spread the word. If you have any friends or family aged 14-29 who want to get involved, their first step is signing up at bcgreens.ca/volunteer.

This meeting will run as long or short as it needs to. Hosted by Andrew Rose, who you might remember from his 3.5 insufferably long years writing intolerably smug nonsense at twitter.com/YoungBCGreens.
When
7:30 PM to 9:15 PM
Where
Protecting your health
BC Greens recognize that airborne illnesses and pollutants pose a significant health risk to everyone, especially the young, elderly, and immunocompromised, while caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff come into regular contact with vulnerable persons. When choosing venues, BC Greens prioritize outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces with good ventilation. In closed indoor spaces, we encourage attendees to wear well-fitting masks (N95, KN95, or KF94), especially during the respiratory-illness season.
Creating safe spaces
The BC Green Party is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully and have equal speaking opportunities. To support this commitment, all event attendees will be expected to follow the standards of our Safe Spaces Participant's Guide.
