#WhatWeDoToShineThrough

What We Do To Shine Through is a BC Greens initiative to bring us together and share stories of the different ways we’re supporting one another in times of crisis. These next four weeks will highlight the feel-good stories that we’ve been seeing all over the internet recently but brings it home here to BC.

What is it? Every Friday we will ask you to tell us your favourite story of hope, love and local heroism. Each week will highlight those who are showing us how to Shine Through in this time of crisis.

The challenges:

Week 1: Share how you’re supporting small businesses in your local area this long weekend (ordering takeout, choosing to buy groceries from local stores instead of chains).

Week 2: Share how you’re supporting essential workers (showing up for "Thank You Hour" at 7 pm, sharing your stories from the frontlines).

Week 3: Show us what creative projects you’re working on, the art you see on your walks, what you’re watching, and the different ways you’re getting creative in isolation.

Week 4: Share the stories of those who have stepped up for one another in your communities. This could be as simple as organizing a surprise Zoom call for a friend’s birthday or going grocery shopping for a neighbour.

Bonus challenge: cross off the good deeds you’ve done and send them to us. Can you get BINGO?

Send us your videos, photos and stories. You can tag us on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or email us your submissions to [email protected].

Get creative: the funnier the better, we could all use a laugh right now. We will repost some of our favourites on Mondays. Don’t forget to use the hashtag: #WhatWeDoToShineThrough

BONUS: Everyone who sends us a story will be entered to win a prize at the end of the four weeks. The contest runs from April 8-May 8, 2020. The more weekly challenges you play, the bigger the prize you could win. We will have one grand prize winner, who will be selected based on the creativity of submissions.
