Victoria Day Parade!

Join your local BC Greens and our federal Green cousins to march in the Victoria Day Parade!

Wear green, and join us to hand out buttons, fly our party banner, and show Victoria that Greens have fun!

We will be staging on Douglas Street near Mayfair Shopping Centre. Please enter Douglas from Tolmie Avenue and look for an Esquimalt Lions Marshal (they will be wearing vests) to confirm our entry number and staging area. Tell the marshal that your entry number is A26 and they will direct you to the Green staging area.

Please arrive at 08:30. The parade will commence at 9:00AM and run until 12:00PM. Dress for the weather, as the parade will run rain or shine. We encourage you to wear comfortable footwear, and to bring water and snacks.

All Green supporters welcome -- the more the merrier!

Please RSVP if you are able to come, so that we can let the federal Greens know how many people will be attending. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there.

GETTING TO AND FROM:
The easiest way may be to come by bicycle or other micromobility device and use it in the parade. If you are arriving by car, arrange to be dropped off near Blanshard and Tolmie, then picked up somewhere near the end of the parade (Douglas at Broughton). The car can be parked in the mall parking lot or closer to downtown. Many use Parking Lot Q (parallel to Menzies and the Parliament Buildings) for pick up. You will need a ticket if you are going to park your car there.

Protecting your health

BC Greens recognize that airborne illnesses and pollutants pose a significant health risk to everyone, especially the young, elderly, and immunocompromised, while caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff come into regular contact with vulnerable persons. When choosing venues, BC Greens prioritize outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces with good ventilation. In closed indoor spaces, we encourage attendees to wear well-fitting masks (N95, KN95, or KF94), especially during the respiratory-illness season.

Creating safe spaces

The BC Green Party is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully and have equal speaking opportunities. To support this commitment, all event attendees will be expected to follow the standards of our Safe Spaces Participant's Guide.
