Pass the popcorn! To launch the new website at www.greenflix.ca, South Delta BC Greens invite you to virtually join them for an open dialogue on the free film, The Economics of Happiness. This classic film questions common assumptions about the benefits of international trade and shows how localized economies and community self-sufficiency can lead us back to a globally sustainable future.
If you were dismayed by the deliberately misleading arguments in that other free film, Planet of the Humans - yet agreed with its conclusions that “We humans must accept that infinite growth on a finite planet is suicide,” The Economics of Happiness dives deep into the underlying issues and explains what we need to do to survive.
The full film is free for at least the month of May, and an always-free 20-minute version can be viewed right on the GreenFlix.ca website. Watch either version of the film prior to our discussion, then join in to discuss its key messages.

Protecting your health
BC Greens recognize that airborne illnesses and pollutants pose a significant health risk to everyone, especially the young, elderly, and immunocompromised, while caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff come into regular contact with vulnerable persons. When choosing venues, BC Greens prioritize outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces with good ventilation. In closed indoor spaces, we encourage attendees to wear well-fitting masks (N95, KN95, or KF94), especially during the respiratory-illness season.
