The strategy, entitled Covering the Basics, includes measures to support low income British Columbians and transition the province towards a status quo of liveable incomes for all.

VANCOUVER B.C. - Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party, released party’s Affordable Homes Strategy today in Vancouver. The strategy aims to cool the overheated housing market, increase the availability of affordable housing and provide greater protections for renters.

FERNIE B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Kootenay East, Yvonne Prest. For the past six years Prest has worked as a secondary school teacher for School District #5.

LANGLEY B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Langley, Elizabeth Walker. Walker is a small business owner working as a graphic designer. Previously she worked in the airline industry as an Emergency Procedures Instructor for pilots and crew members.

DELTA B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Delta North, Jacquie Miller. Miller worked for the Government of the Northwest Territories as an Analyst and then Manager in the Northwest Territories' resource and environmental management regime, specifically in relation to major non-renewable resource (e.g., mining, oil and gas) and infrastructure projects. Since moving home to B.C., Miller has worked as a researcher, policy analyst, grant writer and project manager for First Nations clients.

SURREY B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Surrey-Newton, Richard Krieger. Krieger has a diverse background in farming, photography, environmental activism and in business with real estate, property management, advertising and entrepreneurism. In 1983, Krieger was one of the founding directors involved in registering the B.C. Green Party as a provincial society, helping create the first Green Party in North America.
