VANCOUVER B.C. –B.C. Green MLA Adam Olsen (Saanich North and the Islands) released the following statement in response to the humanitarian crisis ongoing at the tent city in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside:

VICTORIA, B.C. – Sonia Furstenau, leader of the B.C. Greens and MLA for Cowichan Valley is calling on the BC NDP to immediately invest in improving access to abortion and other reproductive healthcare services across the province.

WHISTLER B.C. – B.C. Green Party leader Sonia Furstenau today outlined several short- and long-term steps the Province should take to address the family doctor crisis. Calling out the B.C. NDP government for its failure to act with urgency, Furstenau emphasized that the Province has the necessary tools to begin a rapid shift in the delivery of primary care.

VICTORIA, B.C. - Last year 1,716 people died of illicit drug overdoses in B.C., ending 2020 as the deadliest year for overdoses in the province. Sonia Furstenau, leader of the B.C. Greens and MLA for Cowichan Valley, says an immediate, evidence based, integrated, and regulated plan is needed.

VICTORIA, B.C. - Today Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.'s Provincial Health Officer, issued a public health order to help slow B.C.'s overdose crisis by increasing the number of health professionals authorized to help people at risk for overdose access safer alternatives to the toxic street drug supply, as B.C. works to update prescribing guidelines.
