VICTORIA, B.C. –  Adam Olsen, B.C. Green Party spokesperson for cannabis, released the following statement earlier today in recognition of cannabis becoming legal in Canada.

“There has been a lot of anticipation, nervousness, and excitement in British Columbia leading up to today, and for good reason. We are stepping into a brand new space as a country and as a province,” said Olsen.

“The health and safety of British Columbians must be the first priority as the province implements its non-medical cannabis regime,” said Olsen.

VICTORIA, B.C. – B.C. Green Party MLA and spokesperson for agriculture Adam Olsen introduced a petition from his constituents in Saanich North and the Islands regarding concerns that a large scale cannabis facility is compromising agricultural lands.

“This petition underscores the need for government to address increased speculation on ALR land due to cannabis legalization,” said Olsen.
