I moved to Victoria for university when I was 18 and never looked back. I fell in love with its wild beauty, its potential and its people (and eventually my bride of 17 years!).
I've dedicated my 25 year teaching career in Saanich South to helping young people take on the biggest challenges facing our community and our world because I fundamentally believe that the solutions exist, we just need the courage to embrace them. It is my belief that Canada, and its most important and unlikely province, British Columbia, was not meant to be governed by dichotomy. I hope this will be the beginning of our collective role to lead this province to a better place.
Canada, and its Westminster democracy, has been diluted in its potential potency by politics dedicated only to tribe. In our 11th hour, we need to be better. Our young people deserve it, my sons deserve it and our country needs B.C. more desperately than ever. I can't wait to look back at a time when we can say: it was our community, our province that made the difference. Let's set an example for the province and the country... and for the world.
