Early January... a time for renewal, fresh energy, looking back and looking forward. Join us on Wednesday, January 7th starting at 6:30 PM in the Lower Clubhouse Room at the Juan de Fuca Rec Centre on Island Highway.
Esquimalt-Royal Roads is home to some of the strongest Green support in the province. Let's celebrate and renew our constituency association.
We'll attend to our necessary Annual General Meeting affairs quickly. Note: Only members can vote on resolutions, but everyone is welcome to attend. We'll also be electing new officers including Chair and Treasurer - if you are a member, please consider putting your name forward. Let's see if we can break our best time of 18.5 minutes! Then we will have time for our guest speakers:
- Andrew Weaver, MLA for Oak Bay-Gordon Head, will discuss the BC Green Party's successful 2014 in the Legislature, and give us a glimpse of what lies ahead in Green 2015.
- Evan Pivnick, Regional Coordinator South Vancouver Island for the BC Green Party, will share updates and plans for the year ahead in our grassroots organization.
Come to see old friends, make some new ones, set and break some New Year's Resolutions!
This is a DESSERT potluck. Eat something healthy before you come, and bring something delicious to share for dessert - be creative! What's left over will get divvied up and sent home to ensure you have plenty of reasons to exercise. Bring your own plate, cup and cutlery, and serving-ware for your dessert.
Agenda:

Protecting your health
BC Greens recognize that airborne illnesses and pollutants pose a significant health risk to everyone, especially the young, elderly, and immunocompromised, while caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff come into regular contact with vulnerable persons. When choosing venues, BC Greens prioritize outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces with good ventilation. In closed indoor spaces, we encourage attendees to wear well-fitting masks (N95, KN95, or KF94), especially during the respiratory-illness season.
Creating safe spaces
The BC Green Party is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully and have equal speaking opportunities. To support this commitment, all event attendees will be expected to follow the standards of our Safe Spaces Participant's Guide.
