100 MILE HOUSE B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Cariboo-Chilcotin, Rita Giesbrecht.
“I have been a resident of the Cariboo-Chilcotin region since 1990,” Giesbrecht said. “My children attended the Educo Adventure School, which taught them to see the world through a simple question: 'Obstacle, or opportunity?' The 21st century has posed many major challenges for us - climate change, food security, sustainable economies and social justice for all British Columbians. The Green movement recognizes that we need a new political model in BC, which embraces these challenges as opportunities. I am proud to step forward as the BC Greens candidate for Cariboo-Chilcotin to represent those values in my community."
“I am thrilled to welcome Rita to the B.C. Green team,” added Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party and MLA for Oak Bay-Gordon Head. “British Columbia needs community leaders like her to represent the values that will lead to sustainability and prosperity in the 21st century.”
