Policy Committee

After having two interim BC Green Party Policy Committees and Chairs these past years, we are excited to establish an ongoing Policy Committee. The goal of the Policy Committee is to engage members and facilitate a robust policy process.

The Policy Committee is a committee of the Provincial Council, and it has its own Terms of Reference. The policy committee is a volunteer committee. To ensure that a strong policy process exists for members, stakeholders and expert engagement, the Policy Chair will work with the Executive Director to produce policy reports for Provincial Council. There will be a recruitment and selection process for the Policy Chair position. 

Joining the Policy Committee

Committee members will have 2-year terms. 

  • Thursday, May 12 - applications open for the Policy Committee Chair and five members
  • Tuesday, June 7 - applications are now closed 
  • Wednesday, June 8 to Monday, June 27 - Selection Committee reviews applications and connects with applicants
  • Early-July - First Policy Committee Meeting

The Policy Committee is comprised of a Policy Committee Chair and five Interim Policy Committee members. All are volunteer positions (unpaid.)

All applications will be reviewed by the Selection Committee, which is comprised of the Party Leader, two Provincial Council representatives and the Executive Director. A member of the Selection Committee, or a designate, will connect with you upon receipt of your application.
