MAPLE RIDGE B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Maple Ridge-Mission, Peter Tam. Tam is a computer science engineer, data management specialist and entrepreneur. He is also an acclaimed musician and former RCMP Auxiliary Constable.
“The B.C. government requires improvements to enhance education, provide better solutions for transportation and address climate change, all in a fiscally responsible and a realistic way,” Tam said. “I can meet these community challenges with ‘out-of-the-box’ thinking while ensuring environmental stewardship. Having deep engagement through volunteering in the community, coupled with my professional experience in solving complex problems, we can pragmatically take real action to resolve important issues. B.C. Green Party policies, values and culture provide a perfect platform for me as an MLA to help transform our community and province to become a more prosperous and harmonious place for all citizens.”
“I am constantly inspired by those who step forward to run as candidates for the B.C. Green Party, and Peter is no exception,” added Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party. “His work in cutting-edge computer science and data, entrepreneurship, participations in Canada’s arts community and service to his own local community make him an exemplary leader. I am thrilled to welcome him to the 2017 B.C. Green Party team.”
