Over 500 supporters attend Kim Charlesworth rally with David Suzuki

May 01, 2017

NELSON B.C. – Over 500 people turned out to hear Kim Charlesworth, B.C. Green Party candidate for Nelson-Creston, and Canadian icon David Suzuki yesterday at a rally in Nelson.

“The momentum we are seeing in the Nelson-Creston riding is incredible,” Charlesworth said. “On the doorstep, we are constantly hearing that people are ready to vote Green. At the Trade Show in Creston this weekend, so many people were eager to stop and hear more about the B.C. Green Party platform; they walked away impressed and committed to voting Green. People are ready to trust us with their vote, inspired by the meaningful, realistic and hopeful vision we are offering. It’s time for change you can count on.”

“I am thrilled by the surge of support for Kim Charlesworth and the B.C. Greens in Nelson-Creston,” Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party, said. “Last week, 2015 federal Liberal candidate Don Johnson endorsed Kim. Voters in Nelson-Creston are seeing that the B.C. Liberal Party is not the home of federal Liberals. Rather, it is the B.C. Green Party where federal Liberals, disaffected B.C. Liberals and B.C. NDP supporters can find their values represented with honesty and principle. Kim will make an outstanding MLA for Nelson-Creston and I am very much looking forward to working with her in Victoria.”
