National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week, April 6th – 12th, 2014, is an opportunity to recognize and thank our Green volunteers and the 13.3 million volunteers across Canada.

“Volunteers are the foundation of the BC Green Party, helping to build, sustain and increase our capacity,” said Adam Olsen, Interim Leader. “Everything we do is powered by our amazing volunteers and we thank all of you for your contribution to make British Columbia a better province. You continue to improve our villages, cities, province and country”.

Volunteers strengthen our communities and enrich the lives of people across Canada. The BC Green Party recognizes that they are the engine of social change by contributing their time, skills and energy to the important issues facing society. Volunteers strengthen our democracy and are the driving force behind effecting change in government.

“I would not be here in the BC Legislature without the incredible work of over 200 volunteers,”  noted Andrew Weaver, Green Party MLA, “and I continue to be impressed and encouraged by the energy and talent of volunteers throughout the community. Thank you to everyone who offers their time and talents to improve the lives of others.”

The effects of volunteers ripple through communities and often make more of an impact than is realized.  Today we recognize the contributions of volunteers, celebrate the tremendous work being done and thank each and every one of you for your contributions to the BC Green Party and to communities across Canada.
