MLA Olsen responds to allegations of conflict of interest on ride hailing committee

February 14, 2019

VICTORIA, B.C. — Adam Olsen, B.C. Green Party spokesperson for transportation, issues the following statement on ridehailing:

“The allegations of perceived conflict of interest raised today in Question Period are extremely troubling. I and my colleagues are committed to restoring the public’s faith in government. Therefore, transparency and accountability must be the foundation of everything we do.”

“The B.C. Greens have championed ride hailing for years. We have introduced  multiple private members bills under the former B.C. Liberal government and have continued to press the BC NDP government to make ridehailing a priority. Unfortunately, political interests have too often been placed in front of good public policy. As a committee member providing recommendations to the Minister, I am committed to ensuring we recommend a smart plan that protects the public interest and brings ridehailing to our province as quickly as possible.”
