Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows

I was struggling with who I should support in the 2013 BC Provincial election. The BC Liberals performance had been disappointing but I am not convinced that the BC NDP offers a better alternative. It was when I started reading the policies of the BC Green Party, I realized I had found a provincial party that I could strongly support, and was motivated to put my name forward as a candidate.

As a regular cyclist and transit user, the policies around supporting sustainable transportation are consistent with my priorities and, as a parent of three school-age children, I see the importance of improving our education system to effectively prepare our kids for their future.

I see an opportunity to improve standards of living for all BC residents by investing in clean technology and making choices that are more respectful of the environment. I also see our current government putting that at risk by accumulating large amounts of debt and making investment choices that do not consider the impact on the environment, or long-term cost effectiveness. I want to be a part of the movement to make better choices for our future, and our kid's futures.
