The Langleys Riding Association represents BC Green Party members in two Langley Electoral Districts: Langley and Langley East.
Elections BC reports the combined population of Langley and Langley East Electoral Areas at 111,775 based on the 2011 census. Statistics Canada reported in the 2016 census that Langley Township grew by 12.6% from 2011 to 2016, making it the fastest-growing municipality in Metro Vancouver.
Despite its rapid growth, Langley retains a mix of residential areas and farmland. The people of Langley strive to preserve the character of the area and are proud of its agricultural heritage, wineries, and arts community.
The Langley Greens are excited about the results of the May provincial election, in which the BC Green Party doubled its popular vote across the province, elected three MLAs, and holds the balance of power in the minority legislature. We doubled our popular vote over 2013 in the Langley Electoral Districts. Since September 27, 2017, with the formation of the Langleys Riding Association, Langley Greens have a focal point for connecting with the party and with fellow Greens. Our goal is to join together a community of Langley Greens and work to send a Langley MLA to Victoria.
