Victoria, B.C. - The B.C. Green Party stands in full support of the Sierra Club of B.C., B.C. Wilderness Committee, and Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society as they presented a petition today with over 166,000 signatures, demanding the B.C. Liberal government repeal Bill 4: The Parks Amendment Act.

Victoria, B.C. – In a letter to Hon. Steve Thomson, Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, Interim-Leader of the B.C. Green Party asked the Minister to seek a more respectful resolution to a residential development approved for a recognized Coast Salish burial site and designated archaeological site on Grace Islet (Salt Spring Island.)

Today on the National Day of Honour, we mark the end of Canada's military mission in Afghanistan. We pay tribute to the men and women who were the casualties of Canada's 12-year mission in Afghanistan. With our deepest respect, we remember the immeasurable sacrifices made by so many Canadians and their families.

Re: Grace Islet Coast Salish burial site and residential development

Dear Minister Steve Thomson,

I am writing you this to ask you to intervene and stop the residential development proposed for Grace Islet on Salt Spring Island. Unfortunately, efforts to meet with you in person have not been successful; however, this subject is incredibly important to me and other British Columbians and must be resolved.
