Keli Westgate nominated as B.C. Greens candidate in Vernon-Monashee

February 16, 2017

VERNON B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is excited to announce the nomination of its candidate for Vernon-Monashee, Keli Westgate. As the Sales and Marketing Manager for Spa Hills Compost, Westgate travels around the Okanagan and Shuswap helping businesses reduce their waste by diverting it from landfills. She previously worked with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Youth Programs Division as a workshop facilitator on the topic of Gang and Youth Violence prevention.

“I believe Vernon-Monashee is ready for a fresh perspective and some new leadership,” said Westgate. “As a mother of a school-aged child and the daughter of senior parents who live here, I am very motivated to build a valley that works for us all, where health is a top priority, and people can feel supported by their community when they need help and where all of us chip in and work together to improve all of our lives. I hope to inspire others to action, especially those that have felt left behind by the status quo.”

“Keli is a welcome addition to the B.C. Green team,” added Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party. “She is a dynamic professional with experience in multiple fields that will be invaluable in the B.C. Legislature.”
