I was raised to always give back to the community that I’m in and to always leave the place I’m in better than how I found it. This has stuck with me throughout my academic and professional life, where I would work to improve the condition of an organization that I felt part of.
When I worked on the 2018 electoral reform referendum campaign with Fair Vote Canada, there were many restrictions on what we could do. We were unable to work together, we had to be separate entities going towards the same goal. BC Greens stepped up and when Fair Vote Canada posted canvassing events through their website in Metro Vancouver, BC Greens members found those events and joined in the canvassing. It was encouraging to see canvassers join together to talk with folks in their neighbourhood.
The BC Green Party has been an important part of my life since moving to British Columbia. I have made many friends and acquaintances through the party. I am running for Treasurer to give back to my community in a way that is meaningful with the intent to leave it in a better position than when I joined the community.
ABOUT KEITH
Keith Poore is seeking to be your next Treasurer. He acknowledges that he lives, works, and plays on the traditional territory of the Lekwungen speaking peoples.
Keith recently graduated from Camosun College with a post-degree diploma in accounting. He has also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Medical Physics and a Master of Science in Biophysics and is currently enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program.
Keith is currently an Accountant for a publicly listed pharmaceutical company. He prepares financial statements and other explanatory documents for the financials for the company. Previously, Keith has worked for an accounting firm preparing and explaining financial statements. He has also worked for the BC Green Party and has worked to correspond with members.
