Friends and family can attest to Jodi’s passion for politics, encouraging everybody to become informed and to vote. Not one to sit on the sidelines, Jodi has written letters to newspapers, city councillors, MLAs, MPs, and she loves how the internet and social media allow everyone to learn about candidates and contact politicians so much more easily
A creative problem solver, Jodi blends imagination with critical thinking, logic and caring. Unafraid to tackle complex subjects and sensitive issues, she is always seeking to understand, to identify underlying causes and potential impacts, and get a ‘big picture’ perspective.
Jodi worked for the last 10 years at a locally-owned company that provides specialized technical services to the Pulp & Paper Industry, which included visiting mills across BC and managing multiple lab departments and staff.
Having attended Capilano College and UBC, Jodi earned a BSc while also studying extra courses in Philosophy and Women's Studies. Since then, she has also added leadership and management training.
Although proud to be born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jodi has lived in British Columbia for 24 years. She lives with her partner Mike, who has lived in Surrey-Guildford since his family immigrated from Poland when he was a child, and they enjoy walking the trails in Hawthorne Park, Tynehead and Green Timbers Parks and the new Surrey Bend Regional Park. A supporter of the arts, Jodi has held season theatre tickets with her sister to various Lower Mainland theatres since 1998.
