Job Opportunity: Tour Organizer

Job Type: Full-time contract.

The BC Green Party is seeking an energetic, motivated organizer who is passionate about planning, preparing and implementing leader’s tour events for the 2017 election. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and hard-working team that is dedicated to bringing positive change to British Columbia. This person will be highly organized, detail-oriented and a good team player who is driven and takes initiative. The candidate will be prepared to work flexible hours in a highly collaborative setting, travelling with the tour and delivering exceptional events.

Duties

  • Assist with the development of the leader’s tour strategy;

  • Plan, prepare and implement all aspects of leader’s tour events and activities from start to finish;

  • Ensure strong visual presentation and smooth operation of events;

  • Scout possible event locations and book venues as required;

  • Plan and coordinate audiovisual / technical elements of events;

  • Work with the provincial campaign’s communications and field teams, local campaign teams and facility staff to ensure all needs are met for campaign events;

  • Coordinate marketing and recruitment activities for each event;

  • Manage event-related vendors and purchasing;

  • Work with the press secretary to ensure media requirements are met for events;

  • Provide a day planner with detailed plans and directions for all activities and events;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field or commensurate experience;

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and deliver highly complex, detailed-oriented events or comparable projects;

  • Demonstrated experience managing volunteer teams;

  • Excellent people skills, attention to detail and work ethic;

  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects in time sensitive situations;

  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances and prepared do what it takes to get the job done;

  • Ability to work within a pre-determined budget;

  • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically;

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;

  • Experience with event communications and visual production;

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and to travel;

  • Reliable transportation, a working laptop and smartphone;

  • Experience in a campaign setting an asset.

Pay is commensurate with experience; flexible work schedule required. The position is in Victoria, BC.
