Jacquie Miller nominated as B.C. Greens candidate in Delta North

April 10, 2017

DELTA B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Delta North, Jacquie Miller. Miller worked for the Government of the Northwest Territories as an Analyst and then Manager in the Northwest Territories' resource and environmental management regime, specifically in relation to major non-renewable resource (e.g., mining, oil and gas) and infrastructure projects. Since moving home to B.C., Miller has worked as a researcher, policy analyst, grant writer and project manager for First Nations clients.

“I’m proud to run as the B.C. Green candidate in my hometown riding of Delta North,” said Miller. “I’m running to give Delta North voters the opportunity to elect a new government driven by integrity, responsibility and commitment to the public interest. I’m hearing from voters who’ve lost trust in the other parties and who are hungry for a real alternative that will put the public interest first. I am proud to bring my breadth of experience in government, policy and community organizing to present an exciting new and viable alternative to the voters of Delta North and to the B.C. Legislature.”

Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party, welcomed Miller’s nomination.

“Jacquie is a fantastic candidate with deep roots in Delta,” said Weaver. “Her extensive experience in resource and environmental management have equipped her with the knowledge and skills required to be an exemplary MLA. She is deeply passionate about the need for responsible government and innovative, sustainable solutions that are the future of this province. She would be an excellent representative for the people of Delta North in the Legislature.”
