Reconciliation and Indigenous Peoples

I strongly considered candidacy as a green in the federal election, but one of my reservations was the fact that they had made the first nations section of their platform a subpoint of healthy communities... I see that this year, they have cleaned that up, and show indigenous issues as two of the main points on the summary of their platform. As our first nations are often the point people on environmental issues, acknowledging and respecting them is more important for the green party than any other party. And I can tell you that they generally don't feel respected or acknowledged by any party, and this is tragic. Can you please elevate these critical first nations issues of social justice, (and resource development and environmental stewardship) on your published platform? I'm confident that the party is engaged in these issues and cares about them, and it is just an oversight that they're not properly acknowledge in the published platform. Here is a sample of the national platform: Thank you!

Martin, as Research and Policy Chair and Vice Chair of the Platform Policy Advisory Committee, I want to thank you for your input. Reconciliation with First Nations is an important issue we have been discussing and your input was helpful.
