Greg Powell is a community organizer and advocate on several issues including Indigenous rights, active transportation, climate justice and poverty elimination. He has a background in engineering from the University of Waterloo and worked in the environmental non-profit sector for several years before studying theology at the University of Toronto and then becoming a minister.
Greg worked for several years at the Pembina Institute, where he led an initiative to engage Alberta citizens on climate justice and renewable energy.
Greg is a proud and dedicated father of two little ones; any time not in the office or on the campaign trail is spent with them.
Backcountry skiing, marathon running, trail running, triathlon training, and contemplative practices are important ways for Greg to stay mentally healthy and balanced.
