Getting to the convention

This year’s convention is taking place at two locations in New Westminster:

By Transit

  • Both locations are accessible from the New Westminster skytrain station.
  • To plan your route by bus or skytrain visit Translink.
  • Travel starting after 6:30 PM on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday only requires a 1-Zone fare, $2.95.
  • For those skytraining, you can tap at the gates using your Visa card for a single fare. For multiple fares, use a ticket purchasing station which accepts cash, credit card, and debit card.
  • To access the Inn at the Quay (map here):
    • Take the 8th Street exit and turn right, towards the Fraser River.
    • Cross over Columbia Street and through Hyack Square to the pedestrian overpass (requires stairs) and cross to the River Market.
    • You can either walk through the River Market or descend the stairs to the boardwalk and head west (to your right).
    • You will see the Inn at the Quay just past the Paddle Wheeler Pub, within one to two minutes, depending on your pace.
  • To access the Anvil Centre:
    • Take the 8th Street exit to see the Anvil Centre directly across the street.

 

By Bike

  • The scenic 26-kilometre BC Parkway is a multi-use path that roughly parallels the Expo SkyTrain Line, connecting Surrey City Centre, New Westminster, South Burnaby, and Vancouver. The BC Parkway passes within a block of Inn at the Quay and the Anvil Centre.
  • Bike parking is available at both locations.

 

Parking

  • Inn at the Quay - There is limited street level parking in the area and there is additional parking below the hotel. The cost is $11 per 24 hours. Parking for hybrid and electric vehicles is free for those staying at the hotel.
  • Anvil Centre - Anvil Centre features three levels of underground parking with 270 stalls. The parkade is accessed off of Eighth Street. 10 hours = $10
  • Parkades - There two large nearby parkades.
    • Adjacent to Anvil Centre is the Shops at New West multi-level parkade, located at the corner of Eighth Street and Columbia Street.
    • The Front Street Parkade is accessible from Fourth and Sixth Streets and is just south of Columbia Street. It offers reasonably priced hourly and daily parking rates.
  • Street parking - There is also street parking along Columbia Street and is payable at the meter or using the app “Passport.”
  • Charging stations - Anvil Centre has seven parking stalls with Level 2 charges and a two-hour time limit. Please respect this time limit to allow others to charge their vehicles. There are additional charging stations at the Front Street Parkade and at Inn at the Quay.
