VICTORIA, B.C. – In response to premier-designate David Eby’s 100-day plan, Sonia Furstenau, Leader of the B.C. Greens and MLA for Cowichan Valley has issued the following statement:
“I congratulate David Eby for becoming premier-designate. There is a lot of work to do that will require courage and focus. British Columbians are frustrated with the cost of living, with the lack of affordable housing, they are worried about the collapse of our healthcare system, the unrelenting deaths from the poisoned drug crisis, and that we have a government that doesn’t recognize the severity of the climate crisis.
“This government needs to demonstrate that these issues are priorities, and take immediate action that people will feel in their day to day lives.
“The B.C. Green Caucus has been pushing this government on issues where we have seen a grassroots desire for the BC NDP to adopt new approaches, including on affordability, housing, health care, climate action, and forestry policy. We will continue to hold the government to account while bringing forward effective proposals and solutions.”
