Bill 24, the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) Amendment Act leaves 90% of farmland currently in the Agricultural Land Reserve unprotected from all other forms of development. Visit our ALR page for more information on this bill.

On Mar. 27, Minister Bennett said, “I know that we could have done a better job of consultations, and I take my mea culpa.” In other words, there will be no public consultation on Bill 24.

Debate on this bill in the Legislature will stop on Thursday May 29 at 5:15pm. Please raise your voice on this issue now.

We, the undersigned, call on the BC Government to delay consideration of Bill 24, the ALC Amendment Act, until such time that a robust and comprehensive public consultation is completed.
