VANCOUVER B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Vancouver-Fraserview, Eric Kolotyluk. Kolotyluk is an Information Technology professional with a diverse blend of academic and industry experience. He has worked with the US Department of Defense on the Defense Messaging System, as well as at Motorola helping develop, test, and deploy the world's first wireless internet (GPRS) which is the basis for all our mobile computing devices now.
“Let's work together to bring accountability, transparency and fairness back to our elections,” said Kolotyluk. “Let's show the country and the world what those words ‘peace, order, and good government' really mean. Originally British Columbia was seen both locally and globally as merely a resource province, but we have evolved beautifully since then, adopting a growing high tech industry, movie, television and supporting industries, in addition increasing tourism to share our abundant beauty. As candidate for Vancouver-Fraserview, I am passionately looking forward to working with and for my community to bring your concerns to the Legislature.”
Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party, welcomed Kolotyluk’s nomination.
“I am thrilled to have Eric on the B.C. Greens team,” Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party, added. “He is a leader in the tech industry and understands the necessity of being on the forefront of innovation, particularly in areas like Vancouver-Fraserview where residents need good-paying jobs in order to be able to afford to live there. As a scientist with global experience, he knows that there is much more we can be doing to ensure British Columbians will benefit from the opportunities presented by the new economy. Voices like Eric’s are much needed in the B.C. Legislature and I look forward to watching his campaign develop.”
