The climate emergency has reached British Columbia and our government isn’t ready for it.
Climate-caused extreme weather events are disrupting our way of life, from our food and water sources to the air we breathe and the stability of our homes and buildings.
The climate emergency is a systemic issue that impacts our physical and mental health, food security, housing and jobs. It unfairly impacts our most vulnerable populations and remote communities. We need all sectors of government working together to effectively defend our province and protect the people and things we love.
Act now to tell the BC NDP to provide thorough and clear emergency response protocols by:
- Working with Indigenous governments and communities to strengthen our natural and built infrastructure
- Improving transparency around the severity of emergencies
- Immediately ending all subsidies to the oil and gas industry that is fuelling the emergency
- Investing in liveable communities and infrastructure that will keep us safe in climate-caused emergencies
