Party details

There will be prizes for the best gingerbread houses, awarded according to a very sophisticated set of judging criteria that will be revealed at the start of the event.

To keep things fun and fair, we will ask everyone to uphold the following guidelines:

  • Please avoid building your masterpiece ahead of time. We will all construct and decorate our houses during the event.
  • The only things that are okay to do ahead of time are:
    1. Bake, mix, buy, or otherwise source your gingerbread and/or icing
    2. Set up and organize your construction and decoration supplies

*You will need to BYOGH&S! (Bring your own gingerbread house and supplies)

Here’s a couple of ways you can get the goods:

Prizes

This holiday season, let's take some time to connect as a community who gives back. Four lucky gingerbread architects will have a chance to win:

  • A $100 gift card to Mala the Brand Candles
    • Handcrafted in Vancouver BC., Mala plants a tree with every purchase made through their partnership with Trees for the Future
  • A $75 gift of your choice from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
    • CAMH’s Gifts of Light program is a way to help make the holidays a bit brighter for those who are struggling. Their Giving Hub helps you to shape the future of mental health when you buy a gift for a CAMH patient
  • A $50 apparel gift card to The Canadian Courage Project
    • Be a part of the change with The Canadian Courage Project. 100% of all proceeds will go towards winter wellness programming for youth and their animal companions facing homelessness

    • Proceeds from all merchandise go towards WWF’s Regenerate Canada plan to curb climate change and protect biodiversity

Protecting your health

BC Greens recognize that airborne illnesses and pollutants pose a significant health risk to everyone, especially the young, elderly, and immunocompromised, while caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff come into regular contact with vulnerable persons. When choosing venues, BC Greens prioritize outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces with good ventilation. In closed indoor spaces, we encourage attendees to wear well-fitting masks (N95, KN95, or KF94), especially during the respiratory-illness season.

Creating safe spaces

The BC Green Party is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully and have equal speaking opportunities. To support this commitment, all event attendees will be expected to follow the standards of our Safe Spaces Participant's Guide.
