Party details
There will be prizes for the best gingerbread houses, awarded according to a very sophisticated set of judging criteria that will be revealed at the start of the event.
To keep things fun and fair, we will ask everyone to uphold the following guidelines:
- Please avoid building your masterpiece ahead of time. We will all construct and decorate our houses during the event.
-
The only things that are okay to do ahead of time are:
- Bake, mix, buy, or otherwise source your gingerbread and/or icing
- Set up and organize your construction and decoration supplies
*You will need to BYOGH&S! (Bring your own gingerbread house and supplies)
Here’s a couple of ways you can get the goods:
- Prepare and/or source your ingredients and supplies from your local grocery or bulk foods store. Here’s some helpful recipe ideas from Thrifty’s, the Food Network and Tasty.
- Pick up a simple Gingerbread House Kit like the ones sold at Save-On-Foods, Canadian Tire or Walmart.
