Digital Media Coordinator

The BC Green Party is seeking an energetic, motivated Digital Media Coordinator who is passionate about supporting the development of highly effective communications strategies. The Digital Media Coordinator will work with our dedicated campaign team to augment the communications strategy through digital media (graphic design, photography and videography).

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic and hard-working team that is dedicated to bringing positive change to British Columbia. This person will be strategic, anticipatory, responsive and a good team player who is driven and takes initiative. The Digital Media Coordinator will be prepared to work flexible hours in a highly collaborative setting, helping to take the party’s communications to the next level. A flexible schedule is required as multi-day travel may be required throughout the contract period.

Duties

The Digital Media Coordinator will:

  • Produce artwork for the party’s print materials including flyers, brochures and signage;

  • Arrange printing and delivery of all print materials;

  • Produce artwork and videos for social media and the party website;

  • Film events;

  • Take documentary photography of events;

  • Edit photos for use by the campaign;

  • Manage the party’s photo and video library.

Requirements

  • Excellent understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat and Premiere Pro;

  • A creative and artistic mind that can create inspiring visual materials that meet strategic and practical communication goals;

  • Demonstrated ability to advance a strategic narrative across various forms of digital and print media;

  • Understanding of campaign communications strategy and operations;

  • Understanding of organizational branding and brand development;

  • Knowledge of the BC Green Party’s values and brand;

  • Strong working knowledge of social media networks, especially Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube;

  • Proficiency using web applications;

  • Excellent people skills, attention to detail and work ethic;

  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects in time-sensitive situations;

  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and prepared do what it takes to get the job done;

  • Ability to exercise discretion, ethics and independent judgment in representing the BC Green Party;

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment;

  • A laptop capable of running the latest version of Adobe Creative Suite (CC), photography equipment and a smartphone. The party owns its own videography equipment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience with NationBuilder or other website platforms is an asset;

  • Experience with animation software;

  • Knowledge of HTML, Liquid, CSS and SCSS programming.

Pay is commensurate with experience; flexible work schedule and ability to travel required. The position is based in Victoria, BC.
