Digital Content Creator

Do you have a passion for BC politics? Would you like to translate your passion into action? If so, join our team as our Digital Content Creator. In this role, you will create and execute digital marketing content to build the BC Green Party’s brand and voter engagement in anticipation of the next provincial election. This role will have the initiative to produce, schedule, create and edit written and visual content that appeals to different audiences across multiple platforms.

  • Clearly articulate the political position of the BC Greens on the issues facing British Columbians through engaging visual and written content on our social media platforms, including but not limited to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Managing online persona and reputation across various online channels and proposing and executing campaigns, including organic and paid media, aligned with specific communications objectives
  • Applying your creative skills for content ideation to design and create marketing and graphics content, including memes and reels/TikTok videos
  • Performing weekly account management of all social channels using both native platforms and third-party vendor tools and evaluating social media analytics, and making recommendations to improve social media engagement

This position is remote from your home office; however, you must be based in Victoria to capture content.

What you bring to the team

You are a creative social media pro. You are looking for a role where you make a difference every day by applying your digital media skills. Additionally, you have a value alignment with the BC Greens Party’s vision and our evidence-based approach to the overlapping crises (eg: healthcare, housing, poisoned drugs and climate) our province is currently facing.

  • A minimum of two year’s experience creating strong, engaging visual and written content
  • Well-developed writing skills with the ability to dissect complex issues for non-experts
  • In-depth knowledge of current social media trends and how to maximize their potential to engage audiences
  • Your work experience is supported by your certificate, diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, Copywriting, Communications, Website or UX Design and Development, Photography, Filming and editing; or
  • You have an equivalent combination of work experience and education.

Location

You must be based in Greater Victoria and be willing to travel within the region and occasionally beyond to capture content. Currently, our team works remotely from their home offices. This is a 35-hour per week full-time role and includes evening and weekend hours.

Salary

The salary range starts at $45,000 for a 35-hour work week
