My life is a lot like yours. I have a child, but I don’t have childcare. I have a home, but we’re feeling the crunch of rising interest rates. I have a family doctor, but my father-in-law can barely get his prescriptions renewed.
We’re not the only ones. I hear the same stories all through my community. The status quo isn’t working for people like us. So many of us are struggling to afford the basics of life, let alone plan for our futures.
We’re facing multiple overlapping crises – health care, climate, affordability, housing.
We can solve these problems. We can implement better pay structures that help us recruit and retain healthcare professionals. We can address the inadequate supply of homes. We can create affordability measures like free transit. We can future-proof our homes and communities against heat domes, droughts, and other climate disasters.
All of this is possible – it just requires political will.
I’m running to be your MLA for Victoria-Swan Lake because we need politicians who are willing to step away from business as usual. We need to work across party lines and prioritize the well-being of British Columbians.
