Chris Istace nominated as B.C. Green Party candidate for Nanaimo-North Cowichan

September 27, 2020

VICTORIA B.C. – The B.C. Green Party announced today that Chris Istace is the party’s candidate in Nanaimo-North Cowichan.

“I am excited to welcome Chris to represent the B.C. Greens in Nanaimo-North Cowichan,” said Sonia Furstenau, Leader of the B.C. Greens. “Chris is a small business owner and a strong advocate for building a stronger, more sustainable and cohesive community."

“B.C. NDP and B.C. Liberal governments have continually let us down on sustaining a strong, clean economy, while cost of living has continued to skyrocket. British Columbians deserve leadership that directly improves their lives, and doesn’t just continue to put money into the pockets of oil and gas executives. I’m looking forward to sharing our plans for B.C. with voters and seeing candidates like Chris share those plans with our communities.”

“I want to ensure that we work for our at-most-risk community members,” Istace said. “We can ensure the resilience of small businesses in our region, while coming to these spaces in a good place respecting the First Nations cultures who have walked these lands generations before us. To be mindful of the ecological wisdom they have been showing us and to bring that into all facets of our daily lives and how we operate as a provincial government.”

Furstenau will be attending Istace’s campaign launch today:
