BC Greens Sunshine Coast Gathering & Workshop

We invite you to attend a World Café session on Saturday, November 18th from 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. at Davis Bay Community Hall, 5123 Davis Bay Road.

The team held the first session in qathet (Powell River) on October 14th. It was a wonderful time together, with a group of 17 Green supporters, sharing insights, ideas and hopes for the party, as well as finding ways forward for the near future. The momentum is building, and we hope you will come to share in this next session here on the Lower Coast.

Why?

We're inspired by the vision and leadership of Sonia Furstenau and Adam Olsen.

We see an opportunity now that Nicholas Simons is stepping down after 19 years of being the MLA for Powell River Sunshine Coast.

There will be a Provincial election in 2024 – perhaps as early as in the Spring.

So we're hosting a chance to come together with others of like mind and heart to explore three questions:

  • How do we want to work together? If a key contribution of the BC Greens is doing politics differently, what does that mean to you?
  • How can we grow a strong and enduring BC Green presence on the Upper and Lower Sunshine Coast? What can I do?
  • What can we say to others when challenged about our support for the BC Greens?

Protecting your health

BC Greens recognize that airborne illnesses and pollutants pose a significant health risk to everyone, especially the young, elderly, and immunocompromised, while caregivers, healthcare professionals, and support staff come into regular contact with vulnerable persons. When choosing venues, BC Greens prioritize outdoor spaces, and indoor spaces with good ventilation. In closed indoor spaces, we encourage attendees to wear well-fitting masks (N95, KN95, or KF94), especially during the respiratory-illness season.

Creating safe spaces

The BC Green Party is committed to providing an environment free of discrimination and harassment, where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, can contribute fully and have equal speaking opportunities. To support this commitment, all event attendees will be expected to follow the standards of our Safe Spaces Participant's Guide.
