VICTORIA, B.C. – B.C. Greens leader Andrew Weaver issued the following statement today on behalf of the B.C. Greens Caucus in recognition of Ramadan:
“I would like to extend my best wishes to Muslims across B.C. and around the world who are currently observing the holy month of Ramadan.
“Today marks the second day in a month of reflection, prayer, and generosity. This year over 1.6 billion people are taking part in this remarkable affirmation of faith, and it presents an opportunity for us to acknowledge the contributions and importance of B.C.’s vibrant Muslim community.
“Today Muslims across B.C. have been fasting and tonight families and friends will come together to break their fast with one another. Along with my colleagues in the B.C. Green Caucus, I am pleased to offer my warmest greetings to Muslims across the province. We admire your discipline and faith through this time and hope that you have a peaceful, meaningful Ramadan.
