ABBOTSFORD B.C. – The B.C. Green Party is pleased to announce the nomination of its candidate for Abbotsford South, Aird Flavelle. Flavelle is the founder of the information technology company MSA Computers Ltd., a Rotarian, a long-time committee member for the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce and a volunteer for countless local causes.
“I’m running to ensure my grandchildren can participate in an innovation-driven economy that creates wealth while conserving quality of life for generations,” said Flavelle. “I’m with the B.C. Greens because I made my career in the tech sector and I know that, above all other parties, Green means business. The B.C. Green platform has the agility to leverage the emerging economy’s promise while repairing the old system’s social and environmental pitfalls.”
Andrew Weaver, leader of the B.C. Green Party, welcomed Flavelle’s nomination.
“Aird is a true believer in participatory democracy and in our shared responsibility to leave a better world for our children,” said Weaver. “He knows that the economy and the environment must go hand-in-hand if British Columbia is to be a leader in the emerging economy. His deep roots and engagement in Abbotsford make him an ideal choice to represent his community in the Legislature. I am delighted to have him on our team.”
