West Vancouver-Sea to Sky | wvs@bcgreens.ca

West Vancouver-Sea To Sky is a microcosm of British Columbia, combining urban with rural, a mixture of social, ethnic, economic and political diversity. All the elements of BC’s economic history and future – forestry, mining, fishing, railroads, new technologies and tourism - are captured in this one corner of a province that is at once the ancestral home of the Lil'wat & Squamish peoples and a majestic landscape that proclaims British Columbia to the world.

Issues impacting all British Columbians are at play in this riding, my family home and playground for 30 years. I welcome the challenge of listening, responding and articulating our neighbours’ interests as the West Vancouver-Sea to Sky’s MLA.

My motivation to seek elected office comes from a shared belief that the story of a sustainable economy is not being sufficiently told and that opportunities to develop a diversified and resilient economy are being missed. The political choices in B.C. have been too narrow for too long.

Offering my advocate's record as a twice-elected city councillor, Save Howe Sound Society activist, Green Chamber of Commerce founder, a Board of Change director and career association executive, I am committed to putting my governance experience to work as your MLA.

Under the capable leadership of Andrew Weaver, the B.C. Green Party is set to achieve a breakthrough in this election.  With your support we can move forward to not just a more prosperous future, but a far healthier one for our children and grandchildren.

About Dana

West Vancouver - Sea to Sky is filled with unique communities. As a region that combines urban and rural, and enjoys social, ethnic, economic and political diversity. My mandate it to work with you to stimulate the economy and maintain job security, while preserving the irreplaceable environment that we call home.

My mandate is to advocate on behalf of all residents, to ensure the future of West Vancouver and the Sea to Sky region moves towards a sustainably and economically effective future. Forestry, mining, fishing, railroads, new technologies and tourism are all present in this land, the ancestral home of the Lil'wat & Squamish peoples.

I pledge to oppose the LNG Woodfibre project, by identifying profitable ways to stimulate the economy without putting Howe Sound’s ecosystem at risk.

In addition, housing security, resident transit access to the Lower Mainland and downtown Vancouver, Sea to Sky highway safety upgrades, increasing accessibility to higher education and maintaining respectful and open relationships with local Indigenous populations are also included in my personal mandate of change as a Green Party MP for this riding.

As a twice elected city councillor, Green Chamber of Commerce founder, a Board of Change Director and Career Association Executive, member of the Save Howe Sound Society and resident of this riding for over 30 years, I am honoured to earn your vote.
