VICTORIA, B.C. – In response to Finance Minister Carole James’ announcement that she has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, the B.C. Green Caucus released the following statement:

“Minister James embodies what it means to be a politician who goes to work every day focused on making the lives of people better. Anyone who works with her can see how deeply she cares about the people of our province,” said B.C. Green Party interim leader MLA Adam Olsen for Saanich-North and the Islands and a member of Tsartlip First Nation. “Even in coming forward with this diagnosis, Minister James’ focus has been on the wellbeing of others who face this disease.” 

MLA Olsen responds to the arrest of Indigenous Youth

VICTORIA, B.C. - In response to the arrest of several Indigenous Youth yesterday, the B.C. Green Caucus released the following statement:

BC Green Caucus celebrates paid leave legislation

VICTORIA, B.C. - Today the B.C. Green Caucus welcomed new legislation that will provide up to five days of paid leave for survivors of domestic or sexualized violence. The policy will ensure survivors are able to seek medical care, make any necessary housing arrangements, meet with law enforcement, or tend to other urgent matters.
